Lindkvistes berg

< BACK

LindkvistesLindkvistes berg (in English: Lindkviste’s mountain) is a medium-sized quarry with about three meters high fracture edges. The quarrying has resulted in extensive heaps of scrap stones that extend all the way to Ångkransbrottet. Later the quarry was used for washing clothes and rugs.

THE SOUND AT THE QUARRIES
But let us go back to the time when the quarries were active. The sound at the quarries has been descirbed as an orchestra. Or as sweet music when it was cold, like Uno Johansson says in a recording from 1988. He makes the following description: “Some cross hammered, some stood drilling. There were so many great sounds.” (Freely translated from Swedish to English.)
